REQUIREMENT
 2 double-flight helical staircases with associated balustrade, both to stairs and link bridges on 1st and 2nd floor levels. A number of hot dipped galvanised core stairs were also provided on this project allowing general access throughout the building.

A view through the main atrium showing 2 purpose made helical stairs. Both helicals served 1st and 2nd floor levels as seen in the picture. Construction included main outer strings fabricated from flat bar that supported steel, tray type treads and landings, fully welded to provide a rigid structure. These were infilled using MDF board and finally carpeted to the Client's own requirements. The steel balustrade to the helicals and throughout the link bridges incorporate a timber handrail. The structures were primed and given an initial paint treatment off-site and to ensure the best surface finish could be achieved the top coat was applied once the helicals were installed.
