Most major retail developments now need to incorporate high-density car parking in a consistent and attractive style. The design of the car park for B&Q’s new store in Stevenage, Herts called for a 120 metre long metal screen on the upper floor, using perforated panels to the architect’s design.
The entire structure was fabricated in sections at Hubbard’s Norwich works and installed by our own team. Hubbard also supplied two staircases to the upper level of the car park. These staircases are enclosed in a mesh that matches the upper floor screen.
Hubbard has wide experience of producing rugged stairs, balustrades and screens for access and escape applications. These continue to keep pace with changing safety standards and new regulations. Increasingly, these functional constructions are being viewed as an essential part of the visual design of the project. Hubbard has worked with new designs and materials to meet the changing needs of architects and developers.
