Project: Lakeshore development, Bedfont Lakes
The Lakeshore development at Bedfont Lakes near Heathrow makes the most of its pleasant location, with feature sun decks overlooking the lake. Hubbard supplied internal staircases and circulation bridges with balustrade, together with staircases and balustrades to the sun decks.
What we did: The Results
Internal helical type staircases and 30 circulation bridges to three buildings were supplied, along with associated balustrades. Lift structures and cladding serving ground to third floors were also provided internally. Externally, sun decks and access staircases were provided to the Lakeside elevation.
External sundecks on two levels are serviced by a number of steel stairs that also provide means of escape from all levels of the building. The robust construction of the stairs includes box section stringers that incorporate purpose made cleats to support treads and landings. Balustrades are of mild steel flat bars, constructed in panel units with tubular stainless steel handrail throughout. The main structure was galvanised and painted with treads and landings left galvanised. The sundeck structures and decking were also part of this package.
