Two bridges and an elegant 3-storey helical staircase feature in an airy atrium at Proctor & Gamble’s UK headquarters. Hubbard also supplied external helical stairs, atrium balustrades and lift support steelwork.
Two 18m steel bridges support an impressive 3 storey helical staircase. The bridges consist of steel plate decks supported on tubular lattice trusses with additional support provided by suspension rods secured from roof level. Floors within the bridges were screed filled and carpeted. Balustrade included mild steel flat bar, drilled and tapped to receive round bar infil rails. Stainless steel castings secured to newel posts supported a stainless core rail to hold a shaped timber handrail. The balustrade was polyester powder coated and the main structures were painted on site.
