Royal Docks is a prestige commercial development on the banks of the Thames opposite London’s City Airport. Two wings of offices are linked by a spacious and striking glazed atrium with winter garden. The four stories of offices in each wing are accessed by steel staircases and bridges manufactured and installed by Hubbard.
The 8 staircases and 24 bridges are constructed using rolled hollow section stringers, steel tray type landings which were concrete filled and tiled, with structural glass balustrades and stainless steel handrails from Hubbard’s Eliptec® elliptical tubing range.
In the atrium, Hubbard manufactured ramp access between the ground and lower-ground, the construction of which was the same as the bridges to the wings. The ramp also has an additional handrail for disabled users.
Outside the building Hubbard’s also supplied stainless steel balustrade around the building podium and the car park.
Carefully timing for delivery and installation of these components by Hubbard was essential to ensure that the construction of the building and erection of the main roof structure were completed on time.
